Pigeon

Walks like a small important person, flies like a rumour. The pigeon scouts from the sky, steals from the air and always knows which car has just been washed.

What it can do

• Act

  Peck and grab

Peck a crumb or a small prop and fly off with it.

• Ability

  Targeted splat

From the air, on a marked target: a freshly washed car, a clean line of laundry. Never on animals.

• Ability

  Distraction coo

A loud coo that turns heads your way for a moment.

• When it fits

  Burst flap

An explosive take-off that makes everyone nearby jump.

• Ultimate

  Flock Storm

Call the neighbourhood flock to lift off all at once.

Breeds

Breeds are sidegrades: a different coat and a small trade-off, never a stronger animal.

True facts about the real animal

• The head-bob keeps a pigeon's view steady while it walks.
• The green and purple on its neck come from the structure of the feathers, not from pigment.
• Homing pigeons find their way back across hundreds of kilometres, and pigeon towers have a long history in Egypt.
